Present, past and future
He is originally from Johannesburg and has been a part of the dance scene since 1996. Six years ago he moved to Cape Town, but he was completely shocked by the gay club scene in Cape Town. As he felt that the gay dance circuit was two years behind and playing what he terms “cheese,” “Cinderella Music.” Cape Town’s gay market was yet to be exposed to quality dance music but he refused to compromise his passionate belief and love for quality music and play “cheese” in order to secure a gig.
His persistence and belief in what he was doing musically finally paid off and he was General Manager and resident DJ at Sliver until its closure. Sliver was regarded not only by locals but by visitors as one of the best clubs in South Africa. Presently he is manager and resident dj of Navigaytion which he has been instrumental to is success. You can see Ari spin his magic at Navigaytion every Friday and Saturday( 22 Somerset Road Green Point Cape Town)
